Fran Cox is a visual artist and writer with 32 years of experience in creative work. She holds an M.A. from Hunter College in New York and a B.A. from Manhattanville College.

Her artwork (both 2 & 3 dimensional) has been exhibited in one person and group shows in New York, Boston and other major cities on the East and West coasts. In New York, a partial listing includes: The Brooklyn Museum, A.I.R. Gallery, Pratt Graphic Center, The Riverside Museum and East Hampton Guild Hall. In Boston: The Rugg Road Gallery. Her work includes a variety of media: acrylic, ink, graphite, etching, collage, hand made papers and metal wire. She is an accomplished calligrapher.

Throughout 1993-1995 Cox helped to found Community 2000, a grass roots organization in Warwick, New York, which brought disparate communities in the town to work together to establish a comprehensive village development plan, a farmer's market and an artist’s studio tour. Bringing different points of view together has been a driving force in her visual work as well.

Fran Cox is the co-author of a Conscious Life: Cultivating the Seven Qualities of Authentic Adulthood, published by Conari Press in Berkeley, California. She is currently working on a murder mystery. Her short story appears in the anthology, Murder New York Style.
